Welcome to Our Community Website!
Our Group Parish lies just two miles to the north of Leominster in the County of Herefordshire and incorporates the three individual civil parishes of Eyton, Luston and Eye, Moreton & Ashton.
The lovely countryside with its network of footpaths, trees, woods, varied wildlife and the River Lugg are just some of the distinctive natural features that give our parish its character.
Here lie many places of historic significance including Berrington Hall (National Trust) in Ashton, Eye Manor, the Holy Well at Luston, Eyton Common, churches both large and small and a wealth of timber framed houses.
We believe the name of our local pub "The Balance Inn" to be the last one remaining in the UK! It reflects the historic local importance of the wool trade, marking the site of the wool weighing scales or 'Balance' in the settlement at Luston.
The railway line connecting Manchester, in the north, to Cardiff in South Wales runs through the middle of the group parish and the A49 trunk road passes through its North Eastern corner. The other major route passing through the parish is the B4361 which was the old Leominster to Ludlow road prior to the A49, and still carries a fair amount of local traffic.
