MARCH 2012 Update

===========================================================================================

Following the community meeting we held at the end of last year, we were quite confident that there was a need for a Jubilee Committee and one was duly set up.

 However in the meantime I am pleased to say that the Luston Group Parish Council agreed to take on some of the organising and ordering memorabilia such as mugs for the children in the Parish. In light of the Parish Council involvement it was decided that there was no need to continue with the Jubilee Committee and so it has been stood down.

 We are continuing our plan to take part in the celebrations at Berrington Hall on Sunday 3rd June. Let's hope the weather is kind to us and lots of families spend that afternoon enjoying the re-enactment of events of the 2nd World War.

 Eyton will still have their Bit of a Do on Monday 4th June. (More details can be found on the 'What's On' page)

 For everyone else who would like to share some time with friends and neighbours, the community Lunch, organised by Sue Evans and Cherry Griffiths, will go ahead on Wednesday 20th June and will have a Jubilee theme. More of this in the June 2012 Community Eye, and here on the website

 The mugs have been ordered and so if you have children living in the Parish and under the age of 12 years old then please let us know by getting in touch with the Parish Clerk, Claire Edwards on 01584 711717 or Jane Mackay on 01568 615858.

The trees have now all been distributed, and the Oak tree was planted on Eyton Common on 7th June, but more of this to come, as we hope to have some photographs to display on here shortly, together with a short report.

Please watch out for more information about the Community Lunch on the 20th June and in the meantime if you are organising your own Jubilee celebration, then I hope that the sun shines and all goes well.

About 20 people from all four corners of the parish came to Cawley Hall on the 11th October to discuss, what if any, the celebrations for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee next year might include. The official date is Monday the 4th June 2012.

The following committee members were appointed

Chairman: Jane Mackay 01568615858

Secretary: Claire Edwards 01584 711717

Treasurer: Nigel Griffiths 01584 711729

After a lively discussion the following events were agreed, and everyone in the parish is welcome.
